AEG Partners recently advised a lender to a Southeast-based consumer lending company navigating a rapidly deteriorating credit environment. As underwriting tightened and loan originations slowed, the lender faced a critical reporting deadline and faced an uncertain outlook. AEG was engaged to quickly frame the full range of viable options—from refinancing and balance-sheet stabilization to an orderly wind-down— under severe time and information constraints. Drawing on deep sector experience and rapid-mobilization capabilities, AEG translated complex operating and credit realities into a concise set of decision-ready alternatives, clearly outlining the trade-offs, risks, timing implications, and value outcomes of each path. Armed with a structured comparison of options, the lender was able to make an informed, proactive decision to exit the credit at a modest discount ahead of the reporting deadline, preserving value and avoiding further uncertainty.
