Q2 2025 What’s the Deal

AEG Partners recently advised a privately held supplier to the electric vehicle (EV) industry on its strategic options amid industry-wide production slowdowns. Facing lower-than-expected demand, the company’s ownership engaged AEG to evaluate paths for continuing operations as well as potential monetization of its U.S. and international manufacturing assets. AEG promptly assessed the company’s capital requirements, as well as sale and wind-down alternatives, and provided the board with clear, actionable recommendations for the most value-maximizing path forward.

In 2025, GA Group was tapped to lead the wind-down of JOANN, a 790-store specialty retailer with $2.0B in inventory and 18M square feet of real estate, marking the largest retail liquidation ever attempted by square footage. Our integrated toolkit and decades of category experience turned a high-risk situation into a high-return execution.

GA Group bolsters its Field Exam Practice with the addition of Lawrence Jasper. Larry has 27+ years of expertise in ABL diligence with 19 years as Executive Director for JPMorgan Chase’s Field Exam Group, overseeing all aspects of collateral diligence for borrowers across both Investment and Commercial Bank sectors. His leadership and understanding of various credit and collateral risks extended to transactions ranging from $5 million to $6+ billion, including direct lending and PE deals.

Hyper Valuation Services hired Mark Stevens to manage its new Diligence Services division, which provides clients with an expanded range of complementary collateral monitoring services, including field exams and inventory test counts. Stevens will focus on building HVS’ field exam practice and work closely with the appraisal teams to create synergies and value for clients.
