This spring, nearly 40 professionals gathered in Chicago’s Ivy Room for the first-ever joint lunch program planned by the TMA NOW and Education Committees. Attendees enjoyed a lively networking lunch and engaging panel discussion titled “The Evolving Role of Women in the Restructuring and Legal Profession.”
The program was skillfully moderated by Lisa Vandesteeg of Levenfeld Pearlstein and featured a distinguished panel of judges: Judge Laura McNally, Judge Anita Shodeen, and Judge Deborah Thorne. In a candid and inspiring conversation, the judges shared personal stories and advice about forging purposeful careers in the legal and restructuring fields.
Topics ranged from mentorship and leadership to career transitions and navigating challenges in the profession. The panel also addressed the significance of work-life balance, offering honest reflections and thoughtful guidance.
Feedback from attendees highlighted the panel’s strong chemistry, authenticity, and sharp wit, making the event both enjoyable and deeply impactful.
This successful luncheon marks what organizers hope is the beginning of many future collaborations between the TMA NOW and Education Committees—bringing together professionals for meaningful dialogue, connection, and inspiration.
